IT Impression (Batch 9)

Good Afternoon!
At present day, people live in a world that full of complex and so technical caused by the arrival of science and technology which is responsible for the new area of information communication technology. The advancement of information communication technology or ICT in the 21th century is posting a predictable challenge to learners as well as to teachers/educators.

When my former principal told me to attend EXCITE seminar in IT-Intermediate, I said to myself it was the same as what I already attended on other seminar in IT. More on talks, spending much time in lectures but less exposure on hands-on activity, but today that old beliefs in IT training suddenly change. It is more on hands-on activities and less talk, as what John Dewey’s principle of learning that “Learning by doing and learning through experience”.
This is the most seminar I will never forget the EXCITE seminar, thank you for an opportunity given to us, to our mentor madam Maricel and Mam Sidney for their patience in helping us doing our works, they both approachable and always smiling, we can’t feel any pressure from them, we treat each other as brother and sister, for this we learn a lot. I can say that when we go back to our respective schools, we are equip with new knowledge and skills in computer.

About the venue, it’s fantastic because we’re on the air condition room where conducive for learning, what a wonderful experience hope that there will be another phase of training. To describe the entire seminar, all I can say is “What an Excellent Exciting Experience in Exploring Excel” Mabuhay!!!!!

English Impression (Batch 9)

Good afternoon to everyone. First of all allow me to speak taglish so I can express my true feelings in this training seminar. I was not blessed to have an effective English teacher from elementary to college. Therefore, attending this training seminar is very difficult and exciting for me, difficult because we know the fact that this is not our field of specialization. Exciting because this will help us to improve and enhance our teaching technique just to understand further by students. It also gives us more confidence in speaking English in our class.

From the first day some of us were disappointed because we did not enjoy the holiday last Monday but as we enter the building to be used in this training all of us was amazed with the facilities, it was very conclusive to learning. For me it was excellent. The trainers/speaker were also excellent. The facilitator and other personnel are kind and hospitable and the food were great.

To end this, as our students always say “Good bye Ma’am/Sir, thank you for the teaching us today, our future depends on you”. For me goodbye EXCITE, thank you for teaching us today, the future effective teachers depends on you. Thank you.

IT Impression (Batch 8)

A pleasant afternoon to all, the organizer’s behind this training, lecturers, and fellow trainess.
Let me open this impression with how I opened my very first blog.
“Lyle, I submitted your name for the seminar next week.”
                                                                   -charlz
That was delivered at the time I was trying to finish the writing task given to me so I was very reluctant.  Good thing I wasn’t given the option to refuse.
Five days in the ExCITE training has been very fruitful with free foods, a bag, a t-shirt, and 1:1 computer to teacher ratio to boast.
So far, the training/seminar that I attended without me waiting for the time to go home.
Microsoft excel may be related in a way with Math, now this adds to the things that has to do with numbers I find easy.  Thanks to Sir Fernan who has been very patient with our group.  As I have written in my blog, hindi na ko kakainin ng Microsoft excel. We actually enjoyed doing the ten activities in Microsoft excel. Amazed by what the program can do by just entering a formula and dragging auto-fill. Ayan Sir Fernan may natutunan ako ha! After how many years teacher ko uli kayo. Sir Fernan was my IT (subject) professor in college.
The second part of the training was something I was personally excited to learn, blogging.  For from what I have been hearing, people use blog to express a piece of their mind through writing it online.  I couldn’t remember the last time that I wrote other than technical writing.  This training provided an opportunity to discover an avenue for self-expression.  To our lecturer, Sir Neil, thank you for guiding us into the world of blogging step by step, teacher ko na kayo ngayon.
We also would like to thank our IT assistant, the beautiful Ms. Sidney for never losing her energy in assisting us.
Five days spent here at ExCitE training has been fruitful, engaging, and somehow relaxing.  With this let us all give the persons behind this activity and ourselves an angel clap.
Good afternoon and God bless us all.

Attending this kind of training seminar is such an honor and privilege for us teachers. We all know that many of us have been in teaching profession for quite some time. But it doesn’t mean that we already know everything. We still need to be updated with the changes in the yield of teaching. In line with this, EXCITE seminar enhanced not only our knowledge but also our professionalism. We are lucky to be part of this seminar. On behalf of English group, we would like to thank the organizer, facilitator and my fellow trainees. You can assure that we are going to spread and impart everything we learned here to our students.
